Now in its 13th year, the Full-Circle Festival holiday show and sale is back Sat-Sun November 22-23, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. both days. The festival celebrates local handmade arts and crafts, including pottery, jewelry, metal and glass arts. Come by and get a FREE ceramic tchotchke handmade by our potters while supplies last. Participating businesses and studios include Beachside Cottage Spa, which is offering 50% off lash & brow tints; original music by Samur Khouja; and forging and wheel demonstrations by Authentic Forgeries and the Full-Circle Potters. The event features a raffle with valuable prizes donated by local businesses, 100% of proceeds from which benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance. Raffle drawing at 4 pm, November 23. Loyola Marymount University’s Yoga Studies program will host its 13th annual Yoga Day, themed “What would Green Tārā Do? Confronting Systems of Oppression through Women’s Scholarship and Leadership.” The free event, co-sponsored by Yoga Alliance and made possible by a grant from the Frederick P. Lenz Foundation, runs from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2. This year’s event explores how Dharmic traditions and Buddhist philosophies can contribute to justice and equity in our communities through interactive discussions that take yoga off the mat and into the world. “This event is more than just yoga; it’s about amplifying marginalized voices, fostering dialogue, and exploring how yoga can serve as a vehicle for social change,” said Christopher Key Chapple, Doshi Professor of Indic and Comparative Theology and director of the Master of Arts in Yoga Studies at LMU. “LMU Yoga Day invites people from all walks of life to experience serenity and engage in constructive conversations about the uplift of person and society.
