More than a dozen families came out to celebrate World Kindness Day on Saturday, November 13 by helping beautify the Westchester Triangle. The event was co-organized by Kentwood resident Sylvia Wilson, who is the chair of the Neighborhood Council of Westchester/Playa’s Services Committee and an admin for the Parenting Sisterhood of Westchester, Playa del Rey and Playa Vista Facebook page, as a fun opportunity for families to participate in community service.
Armed with trash grabbers and garbage bags, attendees of all ages walked the area around the Triangle picking up litter and seeing who could fill their bag the fastest. After the cleanup, families were encouraged to paint rocks with colorful images and positive phrases. Nearly 50 rocks were painted, which you might find spread out throughout the neighborhood to bring joy to people who spot them!
