Get ready for the Seventh Annual Westchester Arts & Music Block Party (WAM)!
This popular community event is back on Saturday, September 24 from noon to 7 p.m. with great bands, tons of vendor booths selling art and handmade items, yummy food trucks, and a 21-and-older beer and wine garden, hosted by the Stephanie Younger Group.
WAM attendees are reminded to bring their IDs to enter the garden and credit cards for purchases. Beer will be provided by Firestone Walker and Three Weavers, and wine is available from Sweetzer Cellars at $9 each. Pretzels will also be available for purchase.
WAM’s live music kicks off at noon with the Wayback Daddies. Rose’s Pawn Shop will close out the event with what is sure to be a rocking show starting at 5:50 p.m. In between bands, attendees can enjoy dance performances from Loyola Marymount University students showcasing “Cabaret,” the Westchester Lariats and more.
Dozens of local businesses and organizations will be hosting family-friendly activities throughout the day, including succulent planting, ornament making and portrait painting. Make sure to stop by the Zacha Homes pop-up to have your picture taken in their photo booth! WPNS will also be hosting a slew of kids’ activities, including bubble mania and a bean bag toss, in the Emerson Avenue Community Garden from noon to 4 p.m.

Before you head home after a fun day at WAM, visit the info booth to purchase an all-new official event T-shirt, and grab a free ice cream courtesy of the Kinecta Federal Credit Union truck, to round out a perfect day in Westchester.
New for this year, the event will benefit the Westchester Family YMCA’s teen health and wellness program.
WAM is held on Emerson Ave. between 80th St. and 80th Pl. in Westchester. The street is closed for the day’s festivities.
