Community members will have another shopping option when it comes to purchasing fruits and veggies now that a new Farmers’ Market is opening in the Westchester Triangle on Sundays. The new market is a collaboration between Westchester Vitalization and the Westchester Town Center BID organizations. Vitalization is also the sponsor for the Westchester Farmers’ Market that takes place every Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Westchester Park.
The market’s grand opening will take place on Sunday, July 17. Westchester Farmers’ Market manager, Cynthia Rogers, says there will be a lot of family fun in store at the grand opening including a petting zoo, live band, kids train, cooking demo, raffle prizes and more. Councilman Mike Bonin will also be there to help celebrate.
The market will run every Sunday in the Westchester Triangle and will offer a mix of farmers, ranchers and specialty growers, along with food purveyors and artisans.
The Westchester Triangle refers to the 6200 block of 87th Street between La Tijera Blvd. and Manchester.
