Show off your photo skills and capture a picture of your pet doing what it does best: being adorable, funny or lounging! Submit your photos to us by September 14th for a chance to be featured in our October edition!
Details:
Through September 14th: Submit your high resolution .jpg photos to us via email at westchesterhometown@yahoo.com. Please use the subject line “Pet Photo Contest: your pet’s name.”Include your name, zip code, telephone number and pet’s name. If there’s anything else you’d like us to know about your pet, please feel free to share with us! We love reading about your pet’s personality and how they’re part of your family! Note: It’s helpful to name your photo file your pet’s name (for example Rover.jpg).
September 16 through September 23: All of the photos we receive will be posted to facebook.com/thehtn. There the community can vote for their favorite photos by “liking” the picture. The two photos with the most likes will take home the title of this year’s Cutest Pets and one pet will be a “Hometown Favorite” picked by our team. These top 3 pets will receive a prize.
October Edition of HTN: Winners announced and favorite photos published.

How many photos can I submit of my pets? Please email one photo of each pet you’d like to enter. If multiple photos are received, we’ll pick our favorite!
Can I send an old photo of my pet or should it be recent? Please email us a recent photo of your pet! Part of the fun is practicing your photo skills and capturing a photo of your pet that shows off their personality!
How can I get a good photo of my pet? The best way to get a good photo of your pet is make sure you have good lighting! We recommend using natural light when possible. Make sure your pet is in focus and not blurry. The best photos will showcase your pet’s personality and are creative!
Can I send you a photo of my pet snake, hamster or fish? Yes! Please send us a photo of any family pet.
What is the last day to submit a photo? Please send your photos to westchesterhometown@yahoo.com starting August 11 through September 14th.
Can I take a picture of my pet on my phone? Yes! Please make sure the photo is high resolution, so you may have to check your photo settings.
Can I send a cute picture I found or a friend’s photo? Please only send original, recently taken photos of your family pet.
How will the winner be decided? All of the photos we receive will be uploaded to our facebook.com/thehtn page on September 16th. The community is invited to vote for their favorites through September 23rd by liking the photos.
