Loyola Marymount University 1 LMU Drive, Westchester

Loyola Marymount University's iconic Sacred Heart Chapel will glow with a colorful and spiritual display of animation set to live music during free night-time events Dec. 3-5, 2023, on the Westchester campus. "Anima Mundi / Soul of the World," celebrates the 50th anniversary of the merger of Loyola University and Marymount College. All performances are open to the community and start at 7 p.m. outside the chapel at 1 LMU Drive, Los Angeles, 90045. "Anima Mundi," described as "art in motion," was created by LMU's Academy of Catholic Thought and Imagination and conceptualized by Director José García Moreno. The creative team used 2D/3D animation, photogrammetry, 3D printing, and high-definition video mapping projection to produce a film that explores the elements of spirituality universal to all people. Spectators will enjoy live music composed by LMU President Timothy Law Snyder, Ph.D., with participation by a 60-member choir directed by John Flaherty while the film is projected onto the Sacred Heart Chapel walls.
