Join us in celebrating the 50th anniversary of VENICE Shodo Kai with a special Shodo Exhibition. This event will showcase the exquisite works of our members, along with contributions from local Bunka Shodo Kai artists. We are also honored to collaborate with Gindo Kashu Rouei Kai for this occasion. Together, we will present Shodo-Gin sessions: live Shodo demonstrations accompanied by traditional Shigin performances. Immerse yourself in a day of cultural enrichment, experiencing the beauty of Shodo. What would Green Tārā Do? Confronting Systems of Oppression through Women’s Scholarship and Leadership

Loyola Marymount University’s Yoga Studies program will host its 13th annual Yoga Day, themed “What would Green Tārā Do? Confronting Systems of Oppression through Women’s Scholarship and Leadership.” The free event, co-sponsored by Yoga Alliance and made possible by a grant from the Frederick P. Lenz Foundation, runs from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2. This year’s event explores how Dharmic traditions and Buddhist philosophies can contribute to justice and equity in our communities through interactive discussions that take yoga off the mat and into the world. “This event is more than just yoga; it’s about amplifying marginalized voices, fostering dialogue, and exploring how yoga can serve as a vehicle for social change,” said Christopher Key Chapple, Doshi Professor of Indic and Comparative Theology and director of the Master of Arts in Yoga Studies at LMU. “LMU Yoga Day invites people from all walks of life to experience serenity and engage in constructive conversations about the uplift of person and society. Full-Circle Festival

Now in its 12th year, the Full-Circle Festival holiday show and sale is back November 23-24, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. both days. The festival celebrates local handmade arts and crafts, including pottery, jewelry, metal and glass arts. Come watch pottery and forging demos and get a FREE ceramic tchotchke while supplies last. Participants include Beachside Cottage Spa, massage by Sami Kally, CMT, and music by Samur Khouja. The event features a raffle with valuable prizes donated by local businesses, proceeds from which benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance. Raffle drawing at 4 pm, November 24.
